So much so, that we work really hard to find, keep and serve real ale at its best.
We converted an old workshop in 2005 into a lovely big space to meet & drink beer.
We don’t do loud background music; we don’t have a television.
What we do is good old fashioned conversation, fantastic real ales, and home cooked food made with love.
We also do one or two other things you don’t find in your average pub.
Have a browse around the website and find out for yourself..
We use quality ingredients and freshly prepare them into simple, honest dishes.
We call it “home cooked food – made with love.”
This is how we serve our food;
Monday to Friday: A full menu including at least 3 daily specials on the board, served all day from 12:00 till 20:00.
Saturday: Our full menu again but served between 12:00 and 17:00.
Sundays: We serve our brunch menu from 10:30 through until 14:30.
Visit us and you can relax with a coffee, a newspaper and let someone else make your traditional cooked breakfast or
how about trying smoked salmon and scrambled eggs!
Please take a look at our menus by clicking on the buttons below, thanks.
Pre-Ordering; For those of you in a rush or if you’re just tight for time at lunchtime, phone through your order on 01422 834821, let us know when you’re coming and we’ll reserve a table for you and have it ready.
If you’re having an event at another venue or indeed a party at home – don’t be afraid to ask. We’ve catered for weddings to retirement parties in venues from cricket clubs to marquees,
serving cold buffets to canapes.
Whatever the occassion or budget, from posh nosh to pie and peas, we can work with you to give you the kind of ‘do’ you want.
Ask at the bar for more details or take a look at 'Our Events' section!!
We’re rated 5* by Environmental Health.
We take pride in what we do and we’ve been awarded 5 stars by the nice people at environmental health ever since we opened. This isn’t just for our food, but our cellar management and how we take care of our beer too!
